Mutter Dhingri Masala

Mutter Dhingri Masala

As a family we love mushrooms! I keep looking for different recipes where I can use them.
We were having some friends over for dinner the other day so I decided to make this delicious recipe which I have eaten at restaurants many times. I wanted to give this dish that same flavor & with lot of excitement I started preparing this dish.

You need:
2 cups chopped mushrooms
1 cup frozen or boiled green peas
Tomato puree
Onion, green chillies, ginger & garlic paste
Almond & cashew nut paste
Coriander cumin powder
Garam Masala
2 tbsp Kasoori methi
Chilly powder
Turmeric powder
Cumin seeds
Salt
Cilantro

Method:
In a pan, add 2tbsp oil, add cumin seeds for tempering. Add onion paste & cook for 3-4 mins. Now add the tomato puree & continue cooking for few more minutes till the raw smell goes away. Now add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander-cumin powder & salt. Mix well. Now add the mushrooms & green peas. Cook for 5-6 mins. Now add the almond cashew paste & cook well. This will thicken the dish & give it the restaurant flavor. Sprinkle kasoori methi, cilantro & garam masala & mix well.
To give it a more richer taste, you can add a dollop of butter on top. Serve this dish along with a wheat naan or roti. This dish tastes good with hot steamed rice as well.
