Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji

This is one popular dish across the streets of Mumbai. Every locality has that one stall which serves the best Pav Bhaji & every Mumbaiite will swear that they have had the best one in their neighborhood. This is one of the top 10 dishes we miss when out of the city or the country. Every Indian attempts to make this dish at-least once in their lifetime. Of course there are many who master this dish. Here is my version of this tasty dish!

You need:
500 gm of mix veggies boiled with salt & turmeric powder like green peas, carrots, french beans, capsicum, potatoes, beetroot, spinach & cauliflower. You can also add sprouts if you have.
3 tomatoes fine chopped
2 onions finely chopped
1/4th cup minced green chillies, ginger & garlic
6 tbsp Pav Bhaji masala
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 bunch cilantro
1 lime
Salt to taste
Pav bread slices

How do go about making it:
Once the veggies are boiled, mash them nicely with a masher without draining the excess water. In a non stick pan, add a dollop of salted butter, add ginger, garlic & green chillies. Add onions. Saute till cooked. Next put in the tomatoes. Cook them for few minutes. Add turmeric powder & salt. Now add the veggies & mix well. Add the pav bhaji masala. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle cilantro, chopped onions & squeeze a lime on top. Serve with hot pav.
Enjoy your meal. :)
