Mutter Paneer

How many times have we all enjoyed this dish with a naan or roti. It is an evergreen recipe and loved by all. I am yet to come across someone who doesn't like paneer. One can do so many variations with it. It enhances the flavor of any dish. Green peas and Paneer make a great combo. If you have never tried this dish, then now is the time!

Ingredients:
100 gms paneer
1 cup frozen peas
3 tbsps cream
1 large onion finely chopped
1 large tomato finely chopped
2 tbsps of minced garlic+green chillies+ginger
Garam masala like bay leaf, cinnamon stick and 2-3 cloves
Seasonings like cumin and mustard seeds, haldi, chilly powder, dhania jeera powder kasoori methi, and garam masala powder
Cilantro for garnish
Salt & Oil

Method:
In a pan, add 1 tbsp oil and fry the paneer cubes till they turn golden. Strain and keep aside.
In a kadai, add 1 tbsp oil, temper the cumin and mustard seeds. Fry the whole garam masala for 30 seconds. Now add the minced garlic, green chillies and ginger. Fry till they turn light brown. Add onions and saute them till they turn translucent. Add tomatoes with little salt. Cook till they turn pulpy. Add the remaining seasonings except the kasoori methi and saute for a minute. Now add the frozen peas and paneer. Mix well and cook for few minutes. Check salt, add if needed. Now add the cream and kasoori methi. Mix well. Sprinkle cilantro. Serve it hot with roti or rice.
